Wotter Announces WISP Media Partnership

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:  June 12, 2018

Raleigh, North Carolina

WISP SPORTS TO CHAMPION WOTTER, LLC's FEMALE EMPOWERMENT SWIM GEAR LINE

TEEN SWIM ENTREPRENEURS PARTNER WITH GLOBAL WOMEN'S SPORTS MEDIA NETWORK

Wotter LLC, maker of athletic apparel dedicated to the empowerment of female swim athletes, has become an Affiliate Partner of WISP Sports, a global women’s sports network dedicated to advancing women in sport.  The partnership is founded on the natural alignment of their shared mission and will bring increased reach of Wotter's voice to the conversation on female representation in sports.

Wotter Cofounder and high school swim athlete Niki Vilas Boas, 16, said, “Our partnership with WISP comes at a moment when professional female athletes are, for the first time in sports history, commanding endorsements at a payscale that rivals their male counterparts."  Her comments reference the recent endorsement deal between swim Olympian-turned-pro Katie Ledecky and TYR Sport which has been tagged as the most lucrative partnership in the history of the swim industry.  Vilas Boas added, "Despite this progress, the Forbe’s top 100 list of the most highly paid athletes still does not contain a single female.  I mean, think about that, 0 out of 100.  We want our brand to be a part of continuing to push the envelop and to further elevate women in sport on the world stage.”  Fellow swimmer and cofounder Becca  Segal, also 16, continued, “We have been honored by the incredible demand and unsolicited backing of multiple Olympic champions for our first product, the world's only female swim parka.  There is a loud call for us to bring more products to the underserved female swim market and we plan to use our entrepreneurial knowledge to answer it.  Our partnership with WISP Sports Media will be instrumental in helping us to spread our important mission.”

As an Affiliate Partner Wotter LLC will be featured on the WiSP Sports platform and will also become a part of the WiSP Marketplace, which is currently in development to become the ‘Amazon’ for women’s sports products.

WISP Sports President, Chris Stafford, commented: “We were very impressed with Niki and Becca’s story and wanted to give them the opportunity for their products to reach a wider audience. The girls are clearly talented and their goals align with ours to empower women in sport so we are delighted to welcome Wotter LLC as an Affiliate Partner.”

Wotter, LLC was cofounded by teen swimmers in late 2017.  It has been successfully funded on Kickstarter, backed by 3 decorated Olympians, has won multiple entrepreneurial awards and will appear on an upcoming episode of Entrepreneur Magazine’s, “Elevator Pitch”.  Learn more at www.wottergear.com.
